A native to Colorado, Kelly grew up in Lakewood, graduated Green Mountain High school in 1980, and attended automotive classes at “Warren Tech“ in Green Mountain, Colorado. Pursuing a career in the automotive industry, he worked several years for “Painters Small Car Machine” in Denver as a machinist and engine builder, operating a Bridgeport mill, grinding crankshafts, and performing all other requirements of machine and assembly operations on both stock and high performance engines. That experience alone taught Kelly the importance of attention to detail, and reaffirmed the honest work ethic that he follows today.

Kelly moved from Lakewood, Colorado to Northglenn in 1992. We opened our doors as “Lovejoy Ventures Inc.” on April 15, 1996. In April 2002, we expanded, more than doubling the size of our facility. In June 2007, we moved once again to our current location on Irma Drive. As of October 2008, "Lovejoy Automotive" has helped over 6515 customers with more than 75,110 invoice numbers generated since our inception.

“I have spent most of my career attempting to refine the process of repairing automobiles, to a concept that I now incorporate at our Shop.” Kelly says, “As an owner of several vehicles, I too am a customer and know what I expect when it comes to taking care of my vehicles. I understand the stress that comes from having your car suddenly quit, or not start, and the inconvenience of getting a ride to and from work while your car is in the shop. I understand what our customers are going through when then call me on the phone, or show up to have their questions answered. I have often said that I am my own “most demanding” customer, because I am so critical of what I expect. I apply this philosophy in my work ethic and treat every one of our customers as though their vehicle and concerns were my own. This is one of the points that sets Lovejoy's Auto apart from other shops.”
